a) A U-235 nucleus is bombarded by a neutron, resulting in its fission into barium 137 and krypton 97 nuclei. Write the reaction and compute the energy released.
b) A deuterium nucleus may be converted to a hydrogen nucleus by bombarding it with ? radiation, a process called "photodisintegration". Calculate the minimum energy for such conversion.
