Length of an arc of a curve,Length of a curve

After introducing the implicit representation and the parametric representation of a plane curve (in particular, regular curve), we move on to determining the length of an arc of a curve. More precisely, ours is an atypical exposition in the sense that we take as a definition the length given by a definite integral assigned. Explicit examples will show that this definition is consistent as it reproduces the results of elementary geometry
